Most PCOM students can arrange rotations at Lehigh Valley Hospital that is nothing less than 1st rate. Their Emergency Medicine program only accepts D.O.'s and this is at a level 1 trauma center. This hospital is practically a breeding ground for D.O.'s. Half of the residents at the hospital are D.O.'s.

This is exactly the type of absolutely ridiculous claptrap that is propagated all over SDN all the time by clueless idiots (usually premeds). Yes, we all know that Lehigh Valley main campus in Allentown is a nice hospital and a good place to do rotations (although Allentown is one of the most depressing places I have ever been in my life). The true fact of the matter is that there are VERY FEW rotations open to PCOM students. Ther are at most a couple of spots per rotation for a few of the rotations. Look at the clinical affiliates list righthere . Also, although the list may say LVH, the reality is that you are also likely to be at the 17th and Chew site or over in Bethlehem, NOT at the I-78 main campus.

O and by the way, the DO ER program is at Muhlenburg in Bethlehem - a sleepy little ER without great volume or pathology. You go to the LVH main campus for trauma, and that's it as fsar as I am aware.

So don't believe any of the cr@p you believe on these boards, or at the very least take it with a HUGE grain of salt.

The OP is obviously a clueless *****.

Are either of you guys PCOM students? I'd be more inclined to believe an actual student. Any PCOM students out there that can settle the dispute about the clinical program at PCOM?

4th year at PCOM.

Students may schedule 4th year electives there, but LVH spots at the main campus are few and far between for required rotations 3rd year.
