In your opinion how much memory is "enough"? Am I going to have to just buy a memory chip regardless of what model I choose? I'm going to be running medical references and all that junk.

I think it makes sense to make sure your PDA has an SD card expansion slot. Then you can add memory as needed. "Enough" depends so much on what you want to use it for that it is hard to say.

Just yesterday I saw a 512 meg SD card NewEgg.com for only $25 (after rebate) so I'd say choose the model with the features you want. You can always add memory.
