I got 2 questions...

First... how close is the real test to the practice tests, cause the practice test seemed kinda of easy?

Second... I know that if you buy multiple practice tests it gets cheaper per each test (i.e 40, 60, 80). I bought one and now I want another one but it says I have to pay the whole 40 for it. Is there any way that i can go around that, I mean I already bought one??

Who else is doing June19??

Hey I am taking it June 19th too.

I found it kind of easy too - meaning that the stuff I knew, I did not find the questions tricky or difficult, and the stuff I knew I needed to review b/c I had forgotten the material (calculus, some general chem), I obviously did not get correct. (and I am reviewing that stuff now).

The practice exams are supposed to be the same length (minus the essay portion) and with some of the same questions. Obviously you have to know the material that is to be covered, but I did not find it exceedingly difficult the first go-round.

I really like that it is supposed to be similar to the real PCAT b/c I got a nice feel for the pacing and type of questions. I hope it really is almost the same as the real thing...

need help with June pcat. have collins, pearsons practice, kaplan, cliffs notes, arco study guide all do not help. Forget O Chem, bio, gen chem since took classes in 2006!

I am with you guys on the 19th! I really do hope it's similar to the real PCAT as I would be golden!!!

@woo - if you have all of those study guides and have taken the classes and nothing is working, you just need to do deep self immersion or something. You've listed everything that just about anyone has used to study for the PCAT!

I used Pearson for the January PCAT and it was pretty helpful. The scoring range really told me what sections that I should focus on for the exam. I took one test about 2 months before the PCAT. The other test maybe ... 2 weeks before the PCAT. You may see an actual question or two on the PCAT (I know that I saw two verbal questions on my form of the exam and a few Biology questions as well.) If you're curious about what your percentile score will be on the exam, they're the best option.

Good luck on the exam everyone!

Nick

I just finished taking one of the practice tests. I also hope it is similar to the real PCAT - I would be happy with my score.

I was a little surprised at the number of questions that I was able to miss and still score well. I must have been missing a lot of the "experimental" questions.

I was also surprised at how strange the math section was - for some reason having the problem on a computer screen instead of paper really threw me off. I feel like I guessed wildly on a lot of the questions. The fact that the computer makes it difficult to skip around and do the easy problems first was a little annoying, too. I really depend on that for the math portion of the exam.

EXACTLY! I missed quite a few questions on the practice exams and was still surprised that I scored incredibly well. It gave me tons of confidence on the actual PCAT since I didn't let myself get stressed out in case I knew that I missed a question or two.

Questions about the practice tests: Can I print them out? I can't read stuff on computers. Also, do you use your account on the PCAT site to purchase the tests?

I took the practice Pearson's a few days ago. Is it just me or does anyone else find that the math section on the practice PCAT was a killer? I didn't expect the problems to be that hard and long. How are we supposed to do all that in less than a minute??

I don't think you can print them out but you can print out the diagnostic report at the end.

I found math to be the highest pressure in terms of time management. I have heard that it is that way for many people. I have also heard in the real paper exam you should do all of the easy ones first b/c of the time crunch. Math was the only section I really needed the entire amount of time.

I felt the same way - I got a lot wrong, but still ended up with a presentable score. I hope the real test is that way! I'm not finding the practice tests as easy as everyone above is saying.

Honestly the test itself was decent practice but I was not very impressed by the score range. 20% is a huge score range unless you scored in the 80s to 100 it was a little disappointing. What I would like to know is for those of you on here that used these practice tests were your actual pcat scores within the 20% score range you scored on the practice test? If so were your scores in the lower, middle, or higher percentile of that range?
