Any thoughts regarding whether pretest or A&L (or both) is better to prepare for the peds shelf? I found A&L to be useless for medicine but a lifesaver for surgery. Pretest is hit or miss as well for different shelves. How do these do in preparing for peds shelf?

Pretest and blueprints. 98% percentile on shelf exam.
i love the pretest series for OB, peds and surgery
good luck

Blueprints + A&L + PreTest worked really well for me. I had a little extra time during the rotation, but if I had to do one question book, I'd probably go with A&L. Good luck to you.

hey, what's A&L?

thanks for the advice

A&L = appleton and lange

sorry for the confusion

i should know better because my attending always gives me crap for use of "abbreviations" in my h&p's (errr....history and physical) and my SOAP notes (i mean Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan)
