People w/ Low Stats should still use Predents IMO

So I am wondering why people who have less than stellar GPAs don't use Predents.com. I feel like I'm the only person who has a 3.10 sGPA, but I doubt that it is the case. From what I've seen the average applicant to some schools (not aceptees) hovers just around my GPA so why are there so many 3.7+?

It's just frustrating because a lot of people then feel as though "I'm the only one out there with low stats" when in fact that really isn't the case...

If they challenge themselves, work harder, they will learn more and have better skills upon entry to dental school. This will mean that once they graduate as dentists they will also be of higher calibre than current dentists and better oral health care will be delivered to the people of this continent. Isn't this our true goal here?

haha, that is certainly true.

I agree with the OP and that people should still include themselves on predents regardless of how high (or low) their GPA is... it makes the data more accurate and gives you a better feel for what your dream school's stats really are.

Maybe it's because people are embarrassed...which really shouldn't stop anyone from contributing stats anyway since it can be as anonymous as you like it...just don't link it to your SDN account and no one will ever know 👍

i think it was -4 for PAT....God I turned the suck meter onto full for that section

I love the randomness of applications. Got into Harvard + Penn and got an interview invite from Columbia that I declined yet I was straight up rejected from ASDOH and still haven't heard a single thing from Creighton.

actually looking at your stats we are not that different. Both lackluster in undergrad (most likely due to lack of effort) then scoring well on the DATs. Which is one of the reasons I am interested in seeing your fate with specializing. Let us know how it goes 👍

No, that's a good thing (for me 😛); if they haven't called you yet, that means there's not necessarily a thin letter coming in the mail for me. I'm sure you'll get in, though; I had a dream that we both did. But Friday seems a long way off...
