I took Step 1 and did something completely neurotic. I put a mark on the dry erase for every question that I was absolutely positive that I got correct. Any that I had the slightest doubt was not counted. I counted during the breaks and averaged at the end of the day. I ended up with 69.04% correct. Does this sound like it has a chance at being a passing score?:scared:

do you say that because sources say that 60-70% correct is needed to pass?

I'm just messing with you.

It's hard to tell what score correlates to the raw percentage you score on any particular exam because your score is probably determined more by how you do on each questions (when compared to everyone else) as opposed to simply getting it right/wrong.

In other words, if you get a question wrong that most people score correctly, then that is going to hurt you. On the other hand, if you get one wrong that most people get wrong, then you're still average. Same concept with getting questions right that most people get right...etc.

Are you kidding me?!?! I have been down on myself BAD for the past few minutes. You gave me a heart attack 😀

I know there is no way we mere mortals can possibly know. I just wanted to know if that seems close to how most people feel. After I took the exam, I felt pretty good about my performance, not great, but good. Almost everyone else feels like they failed, so I thought I was being overconfident and setting myself up for a hard fall.

Good one, you got me.

haha...sorry about that. The truth is that we all feel like crap afterwards. The only time I get worried about exams is when I feel good...then it hits the fan:laugh:

I had 17 flags on my exam, per section. Flag means Im not sure. 17 flags on each section got me a 248. Thats like a third I wasnt sure on. Obviously I probably knew more than I thought (anxiety of test taking), but if you are CERTAIN you got 60% correct, you probably got 50% of the ones you werent sure on (40/2=20), for a total of 60+20 percent correct.

Stop freaking out until after you get your score. If you get a 214, be sad. If you get the 256 you wanted, hooray! If you failed, you just get to do it again@!
