We {Perfectionists} are a secret {I guess not anymore} society made up of the most intelligent, best-looking, most athletic, and most genetically inclined to rock the MCATs and be physicians. We get together every other Sunday in a deep cavernous space somewhere 3 clicks up the Mekong delta to discuss our newest plans of controlling the world. Yes, the Bilderbergers and Council of Foreign Relations are our puppets. We feel no pain and have ESP. And, we get discounts at Chuck-E-Cheese. I once asked an English professor if he'd rather have a perfectionist doctor or a doctor that tries his/her best. He immediately responded that by a perfectionist doctor, his definition would be someone who would either treat the patient fully or have rather not seen the patient at all. This is why he'd rather have a doctor that does everything in his possibility. Just my 2 cents. 😎

a perfectionist IS a person who always tries to do their best. They're the same. You can't do better than your best. That is the definition of "best". It isn't possible for your so-called perfectionist to somehow do better than their best. So, when you tell little Timmy to "do your best" you're telling him to be a perfectionist.

A well-adjusted person knows when and when not to be a perfectionist.
