Hmm well maybe they prefer to do Post MATCH this year than be automatically put with a resident they are not crazy about. That way they could at least interview again and handpick the resident. Silver lining lol?

exactly!!!like when i visited Ohio state university for my interview they said there are 3 cycles of interviews ( 7 applicants each day)
so lets see !!!

I am not sure though how many cycles each program is planning on having. I do know though that multiple schools are only having one to two cycles ( Univ. of Florida and Washington for example). Just out of curiosity, what are you puzzled over perio applicant 2018? I know for me, I am surprised people are still having limited interview cycles now that we are doing MATCH

If there are only one round of interviews how will it work for those applying closer to the deadline if they've already picked lots of people to interview?

Most schools do that because they want to secure them selves ,, Saint Louis for example encouraged people to apply in mid of July and they have had already their invitations sent.

And we didn't hear from them afterwards

Many schools reply that they will not send invitations before the deadline but they did ,, and after the deadline line they just send rejections

Have most people submitted 4 PEFs? Are three strong ones enough... just wondering how much weight having one extra one has. Especially if it'd be good, but nothing great/ personal.

If I had to pick a fourth one I'd be looking at an oral surgeon from my school was was head of student affairs or a lady who was the office manager at the pedo office I worked at. She and I are friends now... but I was fairly strict with some of the staff so given that I can't see the evaluation I'd be nervous about a comment about not working well with others... but she did do a job reference for me and apparently it was really good. Opinions?
 
Loma Linda will start their applications review after 1st of September

That's according to the program director
I also heard that there's an agreement between some schools not to send any invitations before September ,, I.am not sure though

I heard Rutgers also sent some out. A guy at my interview had one coming up.
 
Anyone got waitlisted at tufts and knows their process or if there's still really a chance ?

UM will have their next round in 30 of October

They interviewed 16 in mid of July

Rutgers have a round after 2 weeks

What schools are people still waiting to hear back from besides Louisville and Columbia? I'm wondering if we are nearing end of interview invites /:
 
University of Minnesota, but one of the applicants that I interviewed with said they sent her an interview.

I know Louisville had an interview in August.

Does anyone know when Texas A&M is interviewing?

I called Minnesota periodontics program administrative specialist
and I was told that the applications are in the review process and no invitations were sent.

May be they have more rounds as even at ohio( 14 th aug) I met a girl who told me she had an invite from Minnesota
so probably they have 2 -3 rounds n only first round is out
