Don't just try to memorize trends, understand the chemistry behind them. WHY are elements toward the right side more electronegative? WHY does atomic radius decrease (generally) when moving across the table from left to right? WHY does electron affinity increase (ie, more negative) left to right? etc etc.

As with most concepts in the sciences, if you understand the reason why something works, it generally makes recalling much easier. Plus, it makes me a heck of a lot more interesting! 👍

All of them increase up and towards the right except for atomic size which is the opposite.

Just remember Fluorine is the most electronegative, and based off that you can figure out what everything else is for every other trend as well.

Completely agree. If you can understand the fundamental concepts behind effective nuclear charge and atomic radii, the rest of the trends will be easy to understand intuitively, you won't even need to memorize them.

Are you using Chad's? Chad explains things extremely well, and in an entertaining way so that you learn things and they tend to stick.
