Personal Essay?

I was going to start writing my personal essay this month, and was thinking about buying a book for assistance, because I really have no idea where to start.

Any suggestions on a great book to buy off amazon, or great links for advice for writing the essay?

I found all websites to be useless and mostly geared towards making $$. The only book I looked at was Insider's Guide to Medical School Admissions by Toyos, but it's from 1997 and was all my school's library had haha. I can say it helped a bit though and was fun to read through.

The best way is just to write one! Something that you just want to talk about..tell a few stories from your life. Then get a professor to read it who knows about applying to medical school, along with some friends or people who already applied. There are usually essay workshops you can attend also.
