I would like to start a list of some characteristics that I think might be indicative of a pre-med's transition from really shaky/uncertain about what to possibly expect to the period where you are starting to have a good idea of what you are, that you in fact are med school material, and that you are ready to bring it all on. <--🙂 so to speak
A few examples that've crossed my mind:
The littering of my email accounts with communications that ultimately show why I find particular ECs to be personally meaningful. The ECs themselves might show an interest in serving society.
The gradual progression of form in my personal writing.
Being really tuned in to a conversation [between two psychiatrists] that interconnection between the patient-physician relationship and the effect of your decisions in a societal context.
So please share what you consider to be some of the personal markers of the transition from the pre-med state of mind to the "can't wait to go further with learning medicine" state of mind.
