I have a somewhat ******ed question. Of course I have hobbies and interests, but nothing that sounds worthy of being listed on ERAS. I am going into general surgery, and I am not so sure that they will care that I enjoy playing with my dog, shopping, watching tv, or something equally as unimpressive. Is it better to just leave this section blank, or to include thing like this?

We had a workshop for filling in ERAS/CV/Personal statements, etc... the speaker said the hobbies/personal interests were the "pieces of velcro" that helped you "stick" to the interviewers. He said to put what you like because you may end up with a dog lover interviewing you. Do you have any hobbies that show manual dexterity - like sewing, knitting, dollhouse building? He told a story of a girl talking about fixing old cars, then couldn't talk about it in the interview.... bad idea!
