What exactly does it mean when a school asks you to come for a personal interview. I assume if grades were an issue you would have immediately receive a rejection letter.
Does making it to this stage mean you have a good chance of getting in .

I'm not sure if all PT schools are the same, but I assume an interview is a good sign. Some schools require an interview, meaning that all or only the most competitive applicants receive an interview. Either way, it is most likely a good thing to be offered an interview.

I'd say its a VERY good sign. I think the schools are really just trying to weed out the people who are simply book smart, and those who actually have an interest in the field and capable of intelligently explaining their understanding of health care. After my interview (and acceptance), I asked my school how many were interviewed and how many of those that were interviewed were accepted, and she told me that "a large majority" of those interviewed were accepted.

At LIU they told me they have about 200 applicants, but they cut them down to 90 who are interviewed. They admit about 30 people. I'm guessing most schools are like that. Interview=at least 30% chance of admission.

It's probably even better than 30% because the school might have 30 spots for 90 people interviewed, but it's unlikely that the top 30 they choose will all choose that school. Even if it's a top school, everyone has different reasons for wanting to go certain places. If 10 go elsewhere, then technically 40 are accepted when all is said and done. Ah, the beauty of a bittersweet waitlist...

What are the chances of getting in with a 3.16 GPA and 930 GRE to a school like Ohio University? I have been asked for an interview but I don't know if they are just handing them out to anybody or if there are in fact interested in me.
