Hello, I am working in my PS for TEMPLE , so the question the have is "please write an experience that would make us interpret your records"
So I am not a native speaker. I am 25 and came to the USA when I was 18. I would like to tell them that my stats are not so great because not being a native speaker makes things a little harder (believe it or not it does). For example, wrting those Organic Chemistry reports was not just about writing and understanding the theory of the lab but also making sure my grammar and the way I say things made sence.
If I approach my PS that way so they see why I have a 3.5 GPA and not a 4.0, would that sound too needy, would that play negative instead of positive because they may think I am not capable of Pharmacy School?
Thank you

Carboxilic....Personally, I would not use an organic chem lab report as an example. Those have very few sentences other than what is expected in any other scientific writing.

However, if you need to explain a lower grade in a class in which you might have had to write or interprete a US oriented class....say US history from the Revolutionary War to the post-Civil War era....then...you might want to explain why your understanding, interpretation & ability to write about it might be a hindrance, particularly if the area of your origin did not have experience with provicinal govt, economic pressures of industries which relied on slave labor or racial discrimination.

It is not needy to express your difficulty with language....as a matter of fact, it can be viewed as an advantage since you can relate to those who come whose native language is not English & we often revert to our native languages during stressful times such as illness. Just choose your example well.

Thank you for responding. I will not use the Org. Chem. example now that I see your point of view. I forgot not everybody had the same teacher I had. He would make us write a report handwritten (no computer allowed), with:
-a purpose, theory, procedure, results, and discussion. I will pick another class that everybody knows you have to write long term papers.
Thank you
