I will not be applying until next summer, but would like to start working on my personal statement. The question is: where to begin?

I'm not sure what it should contain. I guess I'm struggling with a starting point because their doesn't seem to be a specific prompt to answer (like many college application essays). Should it take on the form of a narrative story?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It should contain everything about you that is relevant to being a dentist. You might want to start with what prompted you to become one.
