What on earth do surgeons want to read in your personal statement?
One of our advisors here tells us to write about why we will be good at our particular field. He said not to write about why you want to go into that field either. And not to write about all your accomplishments, because they have your CV for that anyways.
But I think it's kind of hard to say "i can stand for a long time w/o the need to pee, poop, eat, or scratch my itchy nose".
and also, wont everyone just write about how they have the ideal characteristics to be a surgeon (hard worker, dedication to saving people's lives through surgical intervention, blah blah blah)?
So, I'm pretty much stuck in writer's block here because I have NO idea what to write. I guess i'm not good at bragging about myself...
So what is it that surgeons want to see in a personal statement?
Any suggestions/ideas? (serious ones, not mean ones like stop reading SDN and just write it)
