I think these guys are just robbing us blind. For no reason they have increased the prices from $59.99 to $79.99 for the King edition and $99.99 to $129.99 for the Ace edition. It is the same old 2009 edition.

I think SDN has given them too many customers. Maybe if we all write them an email then they will set the price back or we just use other exams which are just as decent. Afterall, many other dental students used Achiever, Topscore, etc., and did fine on the PAT.

These guys are robbing everyone blind, especially when the economy is bad. I see no reason for this justification. Torrent their butts. 😡😡

Since when does a company need a reason to raise its prices? It is about supply and demand. There is a huge demand for the product so they increase their prices. Common sense. People are still going and willing to pay the increased cost because the program is very respected. Good for them for creating a good product.

Are you going to give your clients a reason why you increased the costs of your procedures when your business is growing?

If the $79 dollars isn't worth it then don't get it. I bought it for extra practice and it was great. It was much harder than Kaplan and Topscore and I feel it prepared me for the actual DAT.

These guys are running a business, not a charity. They know they have customers out there who are willing to pay the additional 20$, so they increase the price. They know predents are desperate to score high on the DAT, so they'll spend whatever amount of money on whichever product that could even slightly help their chances. Trust me, even if you guys on SDN decide not to buy their product there are so many other students out there that will gladly pay the price and take advantage of the product.

Personally, I would pay any price to do well on the PAT, so 129.99 is fine by me!

Plus, dental school is wayyyyy more expensive that this

lol... the poster of this thread has a great idea...

Anytime you contact the company and ask for reduced price for a group purchase.. they add on reading to it (which nobody wants) and make you pay more which really isn't an discount when you do the math.

I don't care that they are a company.. would you still support them if they jacked the price to a 1000$??

Personally I think this is bull****. If we all refused to accept these prices we'd all benefit from a nice discount.

Dentists make quite a bit of money per procedure... Why don't we put a cap on how much they can make?? Doesn't sound like a great idea to me... Crack Dat Pat is a business and businesses make money by charging more than the product costs them. Personally I have had a very good experience with this company. My computer re-configures or something every so often and I just e-mail and they usually call back in about 1-2 hours and allow me to re-install. The customer service is great and if the product helps you get into dental school then the money you spend now is only pocket change to what you will be spending. $120 or $200,000?? Anyways just thought this would be a fun post to enter! Good luck to you all!!!

Of course no one would pay if they increased the price that amount. that statement makes no sense because they know they cant raise it that high

CDP is insane! Before my DAT, my computer died.
so I wanted to contact them and see what my options are.
they were just unreachable. they will never never never pick up the phone. 😡😡😡
I ended up buying a new one for a different comp a week before the test. (with the increased price!)😡😡😡😡😡
so, yeah I support whoever is doing this.👍

Next time try emailing them! They usually get back to you in couple of hours.

Your purchase of both the older cheaper version and the more expensive version actually shows that you don't support it, because not only did you buy it once, you bought it twice. You must have felt like it was pretty useful to have bought it that second time.

Granted you got screwed and they might need some help with customer service.

i tottalllly agreee with doc smile..

but just a little info for those owning their own practice...doc's can't really raise their prices (except to Cash patients).. cuz as long as they are contracted with a certain insurance, the fees are already set for that particular insurance. darn.

but going back to crack dat..life sucks, we're all broke..so.. don't hate on CRACKDAT cuz they sure as hell helped me get into dental school! think of it this way, ur paying all this cuz it's a great investment for ur future.. granted u won't use the software after ur accepted, but this program last forever on ur computer (not like Achiever and top score which expire in 3 mo. or so)

and u can get that 20$ back in less than 2 seconds..just sell Prescription mouthrinse to ur patients. good luck! =)

Stop being so cheap..

If there was an end all program that guaranteed 30s in very section or your money back for a low low price of $25,000 you best believe a lot of people would take it.. no questions asked.... I know I would take a loan..

the economy sucks.. can't get mad at a company for trying to stay alive..

think of this.... if you choose not to spend another 20 bucks and you screw (hopefully not) your PAT section, do you think is it worth it?

Also, when you've became a dentist, how much time you need to spend to earn back 20 bucks?

they have their reason to raise maybe because more demand, and need to hire more tech to support and handle these customers.
