Hi everybody.

I tried doing a search, but came up with nothing useful. I am currently a PGY2 doing anesthesiology, but have realized I've made an enormous mistake. Workload isn't bad, future pay is great. But I still find myself immensely unhappy, and considering a switch to PM&R. I know I'd be a competitive applicant w/ board scores of all steps in the 90+ percentiles of both USMLE and COMLEX. Does anyone have any information that would help me at all? Anything helps. Feel free to PM if necessary.

Its good to realize this early in the game. No secrets, just get your app in. Personality means a lot in PM&R, so we don't just look at numbers. Some of our applicants in the past years have had stellar board scores and numbers but got cut because of personality.

Thanks for the words of encouragement as I'm in need of it right now. Does anyone know of any immediate or off-cycle openings or even a PGY2 for 2006 spot?

Thanks everybody

Well put. Amiable dunce trumps intelligent and thoughtful in PM&R.
