I am getting through things and lets just say that pharm and I aren't good friends.. I mean I am trying to get through it but nothing is sticking. So my question is how many pharm questions are normally on comlex/ what topics do I need to focus on. I am doing questions and I am getting good scores if its a random timed block without pharm. when pharm is added I do horrible. Any advice I have 3 weeks until exam. I want to at least get that 500 ...any advice I will appreciate

My students constantly tell me that the COMLEX exams they take are bugs and drugs. Of the exams I have actually seen (and taken--we faculty CAN take COMLEX), pharm was at least 10-20 per cent of the exam.

BUGS, DRUGS, and OMM.

Honestly if you know those three things and nothing else you can pass the exam. Do not underestimate the OMM components. Expect at least 30% of the questions to have an OMM element.

Also, Penicillin is not on the exam. Obscure anti-retrovirals are. S. Aureus is not on the exam. Random Ethiopian river worms are.

Have Fun!

The exams are different for each person, so do NOT take this advice.

I got bugs that I couldn't even find on Google.

HECK NO !!!!
OB-GYN, Peds make up a significant chunk of it as well
Everyone's goal should be 99% & they should study as such
That is the only way to have a fighting chance at passing the god-awful crap-tastic "guess what we are thinking" type exam that is the COMLEX

When I took it last year there was a lot of pharm that I think all could have been answered by knowing what was covered at the end of each chapter in first aid. Micro, on the other hand, had some bizarre questions that were not in first aid, but even for that subject I think your best bet is to just know the micro chapter really well.
