Pharmacists obtaining provider status in California

I just read this article that says California recognizes Pharmacists as Health Care Providers:

My question is: how does this effect Pharmacists now and in the future? Now that Pharmacists have the potential to become revenue generators, in CA at least, will this have any impact on the saturation of the job market?

Pharmacists are recognized as providers in Maryland as well. I don't have anything else to add as I'm don't live in either of these states yet... haha.
