Just thinking about this....I know that pharmacists are trained to do diagnose patients at certain levels. But are they trained to read X-rays, MRIs etc..?
Thanks
Nev

exposed to yes

trained to read proficiently no

But I beleive that they do have some knowledge in reading such image scans , right?

So then why are you questioning her? Pharmacists are not trained to read that stuff proficiently

Ok it was a mistake on my part...I apologize. Lets end this quarrel..please? 🙁

Yes...silly Texan indeed

Oh yes I did....It's too bad that Tennessee had to stick it's nose in where it didn't belong and save Texas...I'd rather refer to Texas as Mexico.

ok but seriously....

what is it that you are wanting to know?

and why are you asking?

i'm just curious by now....

Hey Bbmuffin,
Ok I just wanted to know if pharmacists were trained to read x rays and analyze them....u gave me an answere which was perfect, but I just went crazy and asked again. The reason why I asked this question was just out of curiosity....Pharmacists go through a lot of training and I felt that they should also have some power in evaluating imaging results...

oh alright

i honestly would not feel comfortable evaluating imaging results...

i mean...
i can probably tell you what could be going on... however... that is totally different than actually aiding in diagnosing

we had to read EKGs and such, even on tests... but that is not within my scope of practice... ever

I don't even believe I'm seen them beyond A&P. If any pharmacist without medical and then Radiology/Nuke Medicine training thinks he can read an X-ray, he should look at the sensitivity and NPV ratings of the experienced radiologists! It's really kinda scary!

Thanx for the replies everyone 👍 👍
