so my school offers an MS in Pharmacoeconomics and Pharmacoepidemiology and an MBA in which a lot of the pharmaco&pharmepi classes overlap. I was thinking about getting an MBA with a pharmacoecon concentration or track because I really liked economics as a disciple and would have probably minored in that had I not been in a six-year pharm program. I thought the MBA would be more versatile and applicable than an MS (not sure, but just saying). I was wondering what kind of jobs and careers one could expect in terms of pharmacoeconomics and if anybody has done anything specifically in that field or something? Thanks.

PharmD and MS in pharmacoeconomics will make you highly attractive in the managed care sector. I plan on working in managed care after I graduate. PM for more info also you should join AMCP if you havent already done so.

Way back when, I did a pharmacoeconomics rotation at the VA. I thought it was interesting, but I ultimately chose a different path.

If your school allows it, maybe you can try to arrange a rotation at a VA if they have a willing preceptor before you commit to another grad program.
There was a lot of research and review of clinical studies. If that doesn't appeal to you then you will probably hate the job.

How's the financial projection looking like for salary in careers/jobs in this area? Anyone know?

the typical MC job imo pays less than retail....but you have so many chances to do things in the corporate world to move up

but you have to have the right qualities: business sense, great communication skills, team player, willing to do literature research, etc
