I think that the pharmacology degree is a post-grad degree. Meaning, that basically all you can do with it is research, and maybe teach. It would not be a degree to be a pharmacist in any means. So, basically, if you want to be a pharmacist at a hospital, walgreens, or whatever you have to get your pharmd somewhere. SOrry if this disappoints you.

A post-graduate degree in pharmacology will get you the highest doctorate available....a Ph.D. And if you are worried about not getting into pharmacy school because of low grades then you are likely in for a surprise when you try and apply for a graduate degree....they are also very competitive.

With a Ph.D. in pharmacology you are not a pharmacist...it is a completely different degree and different direction of training. If you want to work in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry discovering new drugs then a Ph.D. is where you want to be...as well as teaching, basic or clinical research, or government job, or any of an endless array of jobs.

But if you want to be a healthcare worker and work directly...or indirectly with patients then it is a pharmacist

Thanks

Try to score well on the PCATs. Also gain pharmacy experience and just make yourself a well-rounded candidate. OR if your grades are really bad you can try to retake some of your prepharm classes to help boost it back up.
