That kind of money only comes along if the head of a research team manages to discover AND bring The Drug of the Year to market. If said drug turns out to kill people, the money vanishes. It's kind of like playing the lottery, so money can't really be a motivating factor.

So why not angle for CEO of a Big Pharma company and triple that salary - not to mention all the perks? Seems more realistic.
