Does anyone know the average GPA of Texas Southern for a recent year. I have a friend that goes there, but it has been 3 year since he started. I currently have a 3.1 GPA and don't know if I can get into the other schools in Texas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you don't get any answers here, try emailing the dean's office just to get an idea of where you stand. They should have that info readily available. My school puts that info on their website, they're proud I guess, but I did a quick search of Texas Southern and didn't see anything about GPA. I can tell you that the average GPA for the incoming class has steadily risen at Carolina over the years. My class (07) it was 3.68 with 80 students; the upcoming class was slightly lower (3.62) however they are admitting 110 students so that could be a cause for the difference. What other ECs, experience, etc do you have?

The latest I could find (2002) the average was a 3.0, but I wouldn't be surprised if it has gone up somewhat by now. I think in 2000 it was ~2.6.

Texas Southern is having accredidation problems which is why it was so low for a while. I don't know if that has been cleared up or not yet

Thanks for the info. I don't have much experience right now. I'm about to graduate with a B.S. in Economics and am debating over taking the prereqs or not. I had e mailed the admissions office, etc. several times and they never did reply. So, I thought I'd check on here.
