I used the "Certification Review for Pharmacy Technicians" (can't remember the author). I had no experience whatsoever and only studied the book for a few weeks.
Others have recommended the Mosby book highly. You should be able to search the forums and find more info, as this topic comes up frequently.

I used the Pharmacy Technician Cert. Review book and I took the test on Tuesday and passed it. Just waiting on the actual certificate now.

This is the book I used, and I nearly scored a perfect on the exam. I recommend this book to all technicians, or anyone who is "pre-pharmacy" that lacks a lot of pharmacy experience. It covers pretty much everything you will need to know -- from pharmacy law, TPNs, calculations, USP 797, USP 795, all drug classes, etc.
I found a calculation error on the exam I took and reported it. Kind of funny.
Anyway, the tech test is really very easy. If you are freaking out about it, don't. Lets just say if you have pharmacy experience and can't pass the PTCB test, pharmacy school probably isn't for you. Most of the questions are pretty common sense.
One good thing about the test at the Pearson centers is that the test is scored immediately and you know whether you have passed or not before walking out the door.

The first book was solid- broke down everything from legal questions to basic pharmacology and drug-drug interactions. I probably should have studied this one more- There are a lot less calculations on the exam than most practice tests have.
The second book I used went way in depth on the math compared to the actual exam. It went as far as calculating mEq from Atomic mass and valence, and had many problems with 3-4 steps. You'll never see this on the test, but that being said, I felt prepared for all math questions on the exam.

I used Delmar's book. It's expensive, and it didn't cover half the questions on the exam. It covered enough to allow me to pass, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it.
