hi all. on secondaries would PhD program (2 years of it) go under Paid work experience or under research, or both? The stipend was basically a salary so i'm tempted to put it under both, what do you all think?
THANKS 🙂

I put it under research. I am finishing up my Ph.D hopefully by the summer time.

I also have a Ph.D. I put it under research. Research sounds like you have more independent and have more intellectual input than just working

I put it under research. You can put stipend under award if you want. That is what I did.

Dr.Z I also plan to finish this summer.. but I don't think I will defend till later. At this rate.. who knows, maybe summer of next year.

Did you get the stipend for doing research? If so, I would put it under research. However, were you in one of those programs where you get a stipend for being a Teaching Assistant ie. teaching undergrad labs, grading etc? If the latter is the case, I would put the teaching experience under work experience.

Sorry....I got a laugh out of PhD's being "underpaid work". 😀
never looked at what i wrote that way...that's great 😀 and so true!

Thanks all for your replies. So, is the general consensus that research, whether its PhD work or a job (where i was in charge of my own research projects) it goes under research and NOT paid work???
Or, would a research position where it was a summer job go under both?
THANKS :luck:
