Okay so i can basically do the verbal pretty good with regards to post of the passages, but sometimes you get ones with philosophical approaches or foreign government policies, etc.

i think you guys know which ones are the tough ones.

For the other ones i do well with just reading it effectively and understanding it and then answering the questions, but what about these ones when they are very hard to understand with simple reading?

any techniques?

the "philosophical" hard passages are few and far in between, most passages you can read through, you only get 1 or 2 really hard passages on the MCAT, that discuss the hard abstract ideas, and even when they are hard, they usually have easier questions that go along with them.
 
i had a couple very dense philosophical passages when i took the mcat (paper version in August 2006)

frankly the only thing that saved me was taking philosophy classes in undergrad. just gets you used to being able to quickly read and comprehend that type of passage.
