I probably should already know this, but is there a policy on phone calls on test day? My boyfriend is going to drop me off for my test so he can have the car for the day, but I want to make sure I'm not hanging around the test center at the end of the day waiting for him to get me (I'm pretty sure I'll want to get far away as quickly as possible). Can I call him before I head in for my last section?

Each center is kind of different. Maybe you can call your center ahead of time and ask them. I don't think it should be a problem though.

It does seem to be test center dependent for some reason. From the reasonable view, you're on a scheduled and authorized break in between sections, you're calling someone who isn't taking the test or involved, and as long as you put away the phone before re-entering the "secure testing area" they really shouldn't give you any trouble.
If they say that they usually don't allow it...say that one of them can watch you make the call if they don't believe you, it would be hard enough to come up with some sort of signaling code that involves the words..."Hi its me, can you get here in an hour?....thanks, love you, bye."

Definitely call the testing center beforehand and asks about their policy. At the center where I took my test, we had to turn our phones off and were not allowed to use it until we're done with the entire exam. It's best to check with them.
