So I don't need to take physics II for my major but I need it for dental school. To make my life easier, does it matter if I take it at a local community college? I'd rather not take it at berkeley if I have to because that'd just be a burden on me...especially during my senior year who wants to study that?! 😕 Do dental schools require the class being taken at a 4 year university or does that not matter?

They don't require that you take it at a 4-year university. I think BU (someone correct me if I'm wrong) is the only school that doesn't allow taking CC prereqs if you're already enrolled in a university.

My question is why would taking Phys II at a CC be any less of a burden than taking it at Berkeley? You'd still be taking Physics ...

I think it's a problem for a few more schools as well (i think tufts). The reason she'd want to take it in a CC is the same reason they sont allow it -IT'S A LOT EASIER IN A CC!!!

I'm not sure about physics, but I know the locals here avoid organic at the CC b/c it's harder....

Do some research. Go to the websites of the schools you're planning to apply to and check out their recommendations. Plenty of schools will outright state that they prefer the science pre-requisites to be taken at a 4 year college/university.

yea that's true. I don't see why the use of the requirement if it's not being tested on the DAT. I'll just end up taking the class 🙄 anyways because it's one of those things that makes no sense but you just gotta do it. thanks for the advice everyone!

There are some concepts that you will want to know later...and the schools need to know that you are capable of that type of work...

I would also think that cutting corners would not look bad on your app
