...or psychiatric concepts that can be represented in a physical form?

Help me brainstorm you guys, I'm stuck! (please and thank you kindly in advance of course )

Okay I'm hoping to make a small package of Luuk Chuup (Thai mung bean sweets) for my Psychiatrist and the clinic office staff to share for Christmas, but I thought instead of doing the more traditional fruits and vegetables presentation that I'd shape the sweets into things associated with the field of Psychiatry.

So far the only things I've been able to think of are really obvious ones like a brain, couch (even though my Psychiatrist doesn't actually use one himself), and little molded copy of the DSM V (or course I thought of Freud as well, but I really don't have the sculptural ability to do a candy mold of him).

I need more ideas, either that or a brain transplant.

Your original comment actually shows up if I try to quote you (I initially thought your edit was a case of disapproval so I wanted to clarify some things for you, and saw your unedited post instead). Anyhoo why on earth didn't I think of that myself! That was actually brilliant and I now have another something I can turn into a candy mold (not quite what you suggested, I'm thinking more along the lines of a pill bottle of f*kitol). 😀

Thanks, I'll look that one up. 🙂 And that's just jogged my memory on something else as well - definitely something related to philosophers (Socrates, Heraclitus etc) would be totally appropriate as well. Awesome.

Geez why haven't I been able to come up with any of these ideas myself (stupid brain dumb moments *grumble grumble*).

Just wanted to say a thank you to everyone for the great ideas. I got hold of some plasticine the other day and started practicing moulding some of the ideas, and let's just say I think I might have been overreaching with my ability to realistically sculpt or mould anything thanks to having peripheral neuropathy. Oh well, nice idea, but I think I'll be baking pineapple tarts, or cookies, or something instead so they can be shared around. But thanks again there were some really cool suggestions, maybe another time when my hands are a bit better. 🙂

I did spend one Christmas in Germany, which was gorgeous, I'd never had a proper White Christmas so it was a real treat for me. Different families do different things in Australia, but mostly we just get together for lunch or tea, eat food, drink alcohol, exchange presents, pull bon-bons, play Christmas music, watch the kids run around and have fun. It's really not that different from Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere, except the weather's warmer. 🙂

I spent a few Christmases in Sweden but only one I was old enough to remember. It was in the mountains in an old wood cabin. It was quite magical. Feet and feet of snow and in Sweden the jultomten (santa claus) comes to visit you at the front door on christmas eve. I'm still not sure who it was. He was dressed in reindeer pelts--not at all like the American santa claus.
