How competitive are these spots for an applicant currently in an intern year that did not match to derm the first time around? Went to a mid tier school with low 250s on both steps (although step 2 wasnt avail in prior match). Not AOA. I am afraid to apply to strictly advanced spots because I haven't done any new research or rotations that would improve my app, but thinking about applying to physician only spots

Probably referring to spots that immediately start 7/2015. Now that every spot has to be in the match any openings would be designated a Physician-R spot thru the NRMP.
