Good morning!

I'm a Marine stationed at Miramar, and I've been trying for some time to arrange some clinical shadowing at Balboa. The problem is, there seems to be some kind of background security check that needs to be conducted but I can't find anyone who knows where to start. The only options anybody knows of seem to be monopolized by Corpsmen.

Do any of you work in the area who might be able to help? I am going to ask about shadowing at other hospitals in the area such as Kaiser and Scripps, but I was hoping to get a little bit of military shadowing under my belt before my contract is up and I go back to school.

Thanks!

What specialty do you want to go into? Ask your battalion surgeon to make the connections for you.

I agree, I'm pretty sure that most batallion surgeons, when approached by a Marine that wants to further his education and get a look at medical would make a few calls and try to help you out.

I'm an infectious diseases/internal medicine physician who trained at NMCSD. Drop me a line at [email protected] and I'll see if I can find one of my old buddies who's available.
