I get chem. Bio less so but I can force my way through it. I approached physics wanting to like it and mentally prepping for a challenge. I had no idea what I was getting into.

I've identified my weak areas are:

- understanding what the problem is telling me and asking for (a big deal)
- weak trig because I haven't taken it in 6+ years

Now, please help. I got a tutor. He's very knowledgable and helpful, but I'm still having issues (thought not nearly as many). I read the book, do the example problems step by step, do mastering physics problems on my own and compare with notes I find online... WHY DONT I GET IT. Khan academy is helpful after I have an idea of the concepts from the chapter and watching either the MIT or Yale videos.

Anyway, tips??

There's only so much passive learning you can do with physics; it's one of those subjects where you've got to work through practice problem after practice problem yourself to get the concepts. Try to understand the equations, what they mean and how to derive them, rather than memorize them. A lot of it makes sense if you think about it.

I'm opposite. I went into physics confident I would love it, but I ended up hating it. Some of the questions were just super convoluted and forgetting one tiny thing screwed it all up. I think it was just so counter-intuitive. I ended up with a B.

I'm in Ochem now, and I am having a much easier time - my prof is super hard, orgo just makes sense to me, I guess.
