If the requirement is a year of physics, you better have a full year of physics.

Is it possible to just take the 3rd quarter of physics? 3rd quarter for me was all optics and lenses, etc. It's stuff that would be helpful to know for the MCAT

For the textbook, look into buying an international edition (brand new, full color, and only $50-70)
Well even if you're not taking the class, it's advice you can apply to your other classes.
