Hey guys,

I accidentally took Physics A at a community college Sophomore-Junior summer. Accidentally because my course advisor said it was fine for me to take one class at a CC to save some money for medical school. However, I've been digging deeper recently and most people and schools have warnings against pre-reqs at CC's. It was clearly my fault for not researching as much as I should, but I am wondering how that would affect my chances?

My GPA is 3.76, sGPA probably 3.68, and I got an A in the CC Physics A. I'm currently a senior and will be graduating a semester early. I will be taking Physics B next (last) semester at my university. Should I retake the Physics A? I'm pretty confident I would get an A at my uni as well. Unfortunately, I was a naive underclassman at the time.

No, definitely no need to retake an A. It's really not a big deal. 🙂 You have a high GPA and it sounds like you'll be able to demonstrate to adcoms that you can do well in CC and university courses.

it's fine, don't worry about it jsut do well at uni

Oh okay, sounds good. I got intimidated after looking into a few forums on SDN that paint CC pre-req as automatic rejection apps, but it helps to get a different perspective!

yeah that freaked me out too, it's a little bit overblown on this board although it's true you need to pay attention to the balance and distribution of uni vs CC classes
