Has anyone tried the Physics Forcep yet? Is it just a fancy elevator?

I am interested in this as well. My AEGD program recently purchased a set, but no one has used them yet. I've watched some of the videos online, but I still can't get a good feel for how they work.

I actually just recently had a conversation with an OMS chief at my program, and he is one of the most elegant and meticulous residents I've ever worked with...and he hates these forceps. Specifically, he's said they have a fantastic ability to fracture the crown so unfavorably that you end up chasing down a handpiece to finish the extraction anyway.

I am of the opinion that Physics Forcep System is a design for dentists with "lead hands" and no understanding of basic dental anatomy and physiology.

The physics forcep is just a slight update of real old school forceps, and like other said, it can have problems with teeth that would have been difficult to begin with. On teeth that would come out easily, it will work.

Take a look at this site and see if you can find the physics forcep from 1800s:

They are useless and expensive.
Technical support was just about selling more forceps or their course.
Stay away...

errible

yes, the Physics Forceps are an expensive waste of metal. try an Anglevator, it combines a periotome, proximator, luxator, chisel and elevator all in one.
nothing compares, go to YouTube - Anglevator and see some ext's

These fancy instruments won't make it easier to take out teeth. I could take out teeth with a #9, 4 toenails and bathtub of jello.

That's where I learned to take out teeth. I went to the Dominican where they have the largest supply of lime jello when it's in season. I should have just skipped residency bc everyone knows you can just learn to take out teeth on the underserved in a jello-producing country.

Me Too!
Mine was on the other side of the Island of Hispaniola i.e. Haiti.
We did not have lime jello BUT there were a number of lime trees on the compound and we had fresh lime in our rum punch every night.
