Okay freaking out, cuz it's only week 2 of class and I have a 70%. (oddly enough I have a 100% in calc, which I thought would be the worse of the 2 subjects).

Anyway, these are my last 2 classes I have to take, and physics is a $1000 class so I can't afford to fail it and have to retake it, nor do I have time.

I really have no idea what's going on in the class. I took physics I a year ago with a different teacher who really didn't teach it and therefore I never really learned anything, plus physics II is so much more abstract...I really don't get it. I wish I could take it with that same teacher, but I'm no longer living in that community college district.

Does anyone know any good websites that help out with all the electron point charge stuff? Even the physics teachers I work with at a high school say they don't remember it because they never teach that material to high school students.

hey...
my friend gave me this link.. i never use it.. it has physic problems and stuff that you can practice.

Are you taking physics that uses calculus??

Also, if your school uses physics book by james walker, the best way to get help with homework is try to put the whole question on google. Then it will give you a bunch of website.. and try to choose the one from physics forum..some ppl put up answer and how to solve on the forum to your question. It was really helpful to me and helped me get through physics last year.

hope this help a little bit. good luck!

read your textbook over and over. it will eventually click. and you can never do enough practice problems. go to your prof and ask how you can get additional help. i had a lot of trouble in that course and managed to swing an A-. good luck.

I recommend the physics forum for help with problems. Solutions for lots of common examples are already listed on the site: http://www.physicsforums.com/ or type your question into google and the forum will probably show up.

The other site I would recommend is the physics classroom. I think that it may be intended for high school physics but sometimes a really basic overview is a helpful primer. I never had physics before I entered post bacc so this gave me a comfortable foundation to build upon. http://www.physicsclassroom.com/

Best of Luck to You!
🙂

The website that got me through physics ( with a's) was cramster.com. We had tons of online problem sets And they were straight from the book with different numbers. The site has many many text books on there and how to do all the problem sets!

Not sure if this applies but it helped me learn to solve the problems for hw and then I'd apply it to the exams 🙂

Find another student that seems like they know what's going on and try to set up a time to bounce questions back and forth. I find this to be helpful. Don't rely on them though. Everyone in my class is very independent so we do most everything ourselves but we use each other for reference. Physics is all about paying attention to detail, identifying definitions with equations, and equation manipulation. I find practice questions to be the most helpful. It's definitely a weed-out course. We've already lost six students.

I definitely agree with what all the other people said. Just don't give up, take a deep breath and keep trying those problems! I also used cramster to show me how to set up the proper equations, etc. You're school might also have tutoring you can check out too. Good luck! You can get through it!
