Hey guys,

I'm a sophomore at a private school taking the first part of Physics right now, thinking about taking Physics II at a state school. I'm not doing so well, and I'll probably end up with a low B or high C. The thing is, I was planning on taking the second part of physics over summer anyway while I study for the MCAT. I was just wondering if it'd be better to take the second part of Physics next year and get an A so I can show I know the material. I've gotten A's and A-'s in my other classes, but I'm worried that the admissions people will see a big, fat C and think I copped out by taking the second part over the summer. But to be honest, taking it over the summer WOULD be a stress reliever. Should I just suck it up and take it next year?

Thanks for the help!!

Been through a very similar situation....went to a state school and all..
Ok I basically took Physics I fall of my sophomore year got an A-...I was gonna take physics II in the spring but the professor who was teaching the class was crap (not my original physics I professor)...so i waited and took Physics II over the summer at my State school (not a community college).
I think it is fine if you take it over the summer as long as you do it at a 4 year college not a community college...because somethimes that can be viewed on ad copping out (No offense intended thats just how I think it would look if you get a mediocre grade in I and then got take II at a cc)

Why are you gonna study for the MCAT the summer of your sophomore year😕? Just focus on doing the requirements and the deal with MCAT junior year.👍

Not like this helps much, but I'm taking both Physics in 8 week courses. I'm not much of a physics person, so I feel that it may actually be a good thing by taking the class alone by itself. 🙂

I disagree. I think it matters more how you do on the PS section of the MCAT and not necessarily where you took one course.
