Physics on MCAT

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Some questions will be like "Use the thin lens formula" and then provide it for you. Sometimes the relevant equations are in the passage. I think on all FLs and on the real MCAT there were at least a few that required your having memorized equations. I would do all the basic circuitry, lens equations, work and power, stuff like that.

Memorize equations- you'll thank me later. It's just so much easier to just know it rather than try and reason it out via the passage. However, you can reason out a lot of equations if you understand the underlying relationships. But generally, if there's an equation in your prep book you should study it. Any equation that isn't taught in a standard prep book (EK, Kaplan, TBR, even TPR) will be given in the passage.
