People laugh when I tell them this, but I've actually taken no high school or university physics courses whatsoever, except for the small physics units that you do in early high school science.

So, how much physics am I going to need to take so that I am able to do well on the MCAT?

I took physics over the summer and the MCAT in August. Since I go to a school which is on the quarter system, we only get two five week quarters over the summer, and the final quarter in the fall (each regular year quarter is 10 weeks, so 2 quarters is equivalent to a semester and a half.) anyway, the MCAT was about two weeks into my second quarter, so I studied the biggies that I would miss--optics, electric circuits etc... on my own. I didn't do stellar on the physical sciences section (10) but I did well enough to get interviews.
Good Luck

doesn't basically every medical school require you to take a year of physics though?

i had about 2 or 3 questions on optics...
