Hey all,

I'll skip the long intro, but I'm a recently graduated liberal arts major (who minutes in bio, thereby getting a lot of pre reqs done) who recently decided to stop messing around and get serious about med school. I plan on taking the MCAT this spring and applying this summer while I work in a hospital and finish my last few pre reqs.

I have to take physics 1, and for time reasons it would be much easier for me to do so online via university of new England's program.

I am planning on applying to mostly DO schools. So basically I'm wondering if choosing to take this course online will hurt my app?

Thanks so much

Many schools do not accept online courses, particularly for prereqs. I think your timeline is a bit unrealistic as well. Have you taken biochemistry yet? What about physics 2?

Thanks for the replies.. I was able to enroll in a physics 1 at a nearby four year institute for spring 2017 literally a few hours ago so the main question is a moot point.

But to address what one of you brought up, no I haven't taken physics 2 and biochem and don't plan to before taking the MCAT. Honestly i feel as though I've learned the "test material" better from the MCAT study books i have then from my actual classes.. I just began a biochem book and plan to take the MCAT in may so feel this wil give me enough time. I do understand this is kind of unorthodox though

I don't think you'll find many people that would advise this method. You want to take the MCAT once. If you aren't prepared, you shouldn't do it. This is not a race to get to med school. Take the time to make your application good the first time around.
