When a ballon is rubbed on your hair, the ballon becomes charged negatively. Why does the balloon stick to a neutral wall. i know it has something to do with pushing back the negative electorns and attracting the protons, but is this true?
You're right. When the balloon picks up the electrons from your hair, the electrons distribute throughout the balloon. When you bring the balloon towards the wall, the electrons in the balloon repel the electrons in the wall, leaving a net positive charge in the wall at the point of contact. Positive + Negative = attraction.
