I am wondering what Physics class everyone is taking?... Is it trig/algerba based or is it the calculus based one?... My university offers both and am hoping i only have to take the Trig based one for obvious reasons ITS EASIER!... but i'll be taking the calc based one if thats what the majority of pre-pharms are doing.... Please give me some feedback!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you only have to take the easy one. The calculus based one is for engineering majors. You do not need that for pharmacy school.

You might want to check the requirements of the specific schools you are going to be applying to - I seem to recall a couple of threads where there are certain schools that require calc-based physics, but I can't recall for certain.

UCSF has just begun to require calc-based physics. Most schools don't, but if you are applying there you may want to consider the calc-based.

just to stay on the safe side....take the calculus based physics because it is universally accepted across all the schools.

Thanks for your input guys and gals!

same goes for ucsd

I took the calculus based honors Physics with Physics majors...

I;m not sure how that experience has affected my life other than i remember the professor was a knockout dropdead gorgeous brunette with a set of large mammary glands.

Yes, make sure you check with the individual schools.

The one I'm going to (Ferris State) doesn't even require physics at all.

I took calc based I and II

same here... it didnt hurt. In Non Calc Physics - they give you velocity, accel, and displacement equations --> in Physics w/ Calc - They tell you the derivative / intergral relationship. HAHAH - you cant have physics w/o calculus - it just wouldnt work. You do it no matter which one you take - they just dont tell you about it in the Non calc physics.

Work hard and you should be fine.

I have all my pre-req's done for Ferris State and i have applyed there. I was just wondering what physics to take just in case i don't get in and then i can apply to more schools next year. What year are you at ferris? if you don't mind me asking.....

Oh, I'm not there yet, it's the one that I'm going to apply to. I'm still a lowly freshman 🙁 4.00 gpa with 22 credits in though so I'm pretty confident that I can get in as long as I don't mess up anything too badly.

I don't want to go to Wayne because I'm afraid of Detroit (and I want to get out of the house) and U of M is way more competitive than Ferris, I've heard. I don't really want to go out of state because out of state fees are insane.

I'm transferring to Ferris next year for my second year of prepharm though, if that helps. I went to their program and am going again Nov 17 (whatever day the pharm dawg day is) and I was quite impressed.
