This class seemed somewhat interesting. Has anyone taken a class like this?

What the course guide says is .. "Physiological adaptation and function in wild animals, primarily birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians. Focus on interactions between animals and their environment, and relationships between animal physiology and the ecology and dynamics of populations."

Seems interesting but has anyone taken a course similar to this and provide feedback. Thanks

I can think of better uses of my sGPA

The OP is asking about whether or not the class is interesting. It's hilarious how quickly you associated the issue with sGPA. Where's your sense of curiosity? Passion? Anything like that at all? Really wouldn't want a library-living robot like you as my doctor lol. Not sure what admissions committee would accept you during an interview either.

As a non-science major with a bunch of sociology and philosophy classes under my belt, I think I'm pretty well-rounded. Nice of you to make assumptions. When it comes to my sGPA though, I don't risk it any more than I need to. If this class is an elective for a bio major and it interests OP then whatever. If its just a random elective they want to take, I wouldn't. It sounds boring and the credits would be better invested into a class which could better prepare them for the MCAT. Why are you so butthurt?

edit: this is hilarious coming from the person who made a thread about taking 100-level sciences classes for their pre-reqs

I would strongly advise you to take what you learned about those classes and apply it to your everyday life. Although, I guess that's what your problem is in the first place, isn't it?😉 Point is, the OP was asking if anyone had taken the class before and if they had any insight. I don't think he needs guidance from a kid waving his ego around on these forums lol.

Also, not sure what that thread has to do with this one. I would suggest you refrain from ad hominem attacks. It's really rather childish.

as much as i would love to miss out on sleep by arguing with an obvious troll, im going to sit this one out.

Ah yes, the infamous "I ran out of arguments so I'm going to resort to the troll accusation tactic". A common shield used by kids who realized a bit too late that they were wrong.

Wow, sorry your thread got hijacked, OP. The closest classes I've taken to this are zoology and mammalian physiology, which I enjoyed. Do you know anyone at your school that has taken it? I would take the class if 1) it interests you, 2) it is taught by a decent professor, 3) it has a good reputation at your school.

Is there a lab? We did some cool dissections in my mam phys class.

Biosocial evironmnetal psycho-entomology...

That sounds like a neat class OP. Understanding behavior and interactions among members of an ecosystem is good.

If it's something you want to take, then take it. College shouldn't be all about checking off the boxes. Take time to learn things you're interested in, and don't let people like the so aptly named genericpremedstudent deter you.

This is the second time this course is being taught, and the course information in the best available information out as of now. I don't know anyone who has previous experience with this course. The class does interest me, based solely on the information provided on the course guide. I contacted the professor and he recommended having some previous experience with physiology (I have taken) and ecology (haven't taken it besides the intro material provided in an intro bio course). The professor has mixed reviews. His teaching is praised but his exams are very difficult based on rate my professor. But that's fine (my ochem professor was supposed to be Stalin reincarnated but he turned out to be ok).

Do you guys have any suggestions for electives? Can be science related. Thanks!

Alright 🙂 DO you have suggestions for courses? Would be appreciated!!
