Prolonged acidosis leads to which of the following nitrogenous products being excreted in high amounts in the urine?
A. urea
B. Ammona
C. Uric Acid
D. Creatinine
E. Aspartic acid

Answer is B. Im completely stumped.. Urea is the primary mode of ammonia and nitrogen excretion because ammonia is toxic in the body even in trace amounts.. So why is it that in the acidic state such as metabolic acidosis will Ammonia predominate?

Blocking the hypothalamic-hypophyseal venous portal system causes increase secretion of which of the following?
A. Prolactin
B. Oxytocin
C. ACTH
D. TSH

Answer is A..
The Ant. Pituitary secretes TSH, ACTH, and Prolactin if im not mistaken.. So how is it physically possible to secrete something in excess when its transfer and thus release is blocked?

becoz ammonia is used to buffer hydrogen ions in distal tubule of kidney which the kidney itself manufactures to complete the buffering process

hypothalamus secretes prolacting inhibiting factor ,the release of which is blocked when hypophyseal portal system is blocked and hence causes increased release of prolactin by pituitary
