Hi Guys,
I've been trying to make a decision for a while now, and thought I'd try to get some input. Yes, I was accepted to Davis, my top choice. But, I was also offered interviews at UCLA and UC Irvine, my next two choices. However, I don't think I would pick LA or Irvine over davis. So, I don't really want to spend any more money, spend any more vacation days or get my nylons to cut off my circulation for another interview, just to "say" I went. It just makes me nervous withdrawing from these schools so early. Any advice? Anyone been on Irvine or LA interviews and can tell me what they thought? Thank you everyone. Good luck to all :luck:

seriously--you have your first choice and some others have NOTHING!!! why not just be happy and go with it. follow your heart and leave the other schools for those who feel about them the way you do about davis.

interview at UCLA! it was really nice, in a really cool place, the students seemed really neat. youve got an acceptance, and first choice or not its ok to consider more schools, just cut the schools you dont care about, be more critical, and use davis as a measure. my entire family asks every doctor they come in contact with about medical school and where they think i should go and the like and every single one says 'UCLA! got there! woo!" its worth a look.

yeah, ucla is an awesome school and one of my first choices and i, like you, wanted to go to davis at the beginning of the year because i'm a norcal person. just check it out and you might change your mind. uc irvine, i don't know if they're worth a trip but i don't know... maybe you can try to schedule them both during the same trip.

You are being silly. Stick with your gut instincts and be happy you got into your top choice so early and be done with this process that's tearing most the rest of us to pieces.

i like the way you think.. I know what I want to do. UCLA is great, but I don't think I have a UCLA type mentality and don't really want to live there. i don't like LA and I've been there enough to know that. I like mountains and hippies!! ha ha.. i'm not a tree-hugger or anything, but I'm happy here so I think I'll just go to Davis and be happy. Thanks for your help!

I can't believe that you're conflicted over these kinds of choices. My hats off to you. I wish I was as conflicted as you to have to pick between UCs. I'm not jealous though . . .okay, yeah I am. Go to your top choice, be it what it may. Maybe you should interview at the others so you don't regret it later during the stresses of med school life.

but here's the question, why would I regret it............. we're all gonna become doctors in the end.. does it really matter all that much...every physician I talk to is like........... NO, it doesn't... go to the cheapest and most comfortable school you can 🙂 I'm sorry to sound ******ed about this choice I have to make, I know I am blessed to even have a choice to make right now, but I was just asking for advice. I'm sure you'll have a choice to make soon :luck:

I think you should pick where you think will be happy. If I got into my top choice schools, I would give up other places for those who really want to go there. You have been blessed to have acceptance to your top choice this early. I'm sure you will be a great physician no matter what school you goto. Congrats!
