Pissed

slz has made two WAMC threads, one before he took the MCAT. Chill to the bone.

JK, people can do what they want. I don't care either way. The delay is good for those getting stuff together and those ready get a week off. I don't see a problem either way.

It's a marathon, not a sprint.

I'm definitely not chill, at least not now. Once I'm in I can pretend to be though.

Day 2 of this thread: Yessh!

👍 Synopsis so far:

OP: 😡 pissed at AMCAS
Everyone in this or previous years: 😛 Chillax
Other people applying this year: 😀 Yay! We get extra time!
Everyone in this or previsous years: 😎 I'm the chillest, no I'M the chillest. . . . . .

I've been entertained

Lol, this thread has provided me with a good laugh as well.

The truth is that the more relaxed you are, the better for you. It can feel like a long cycle - a lot of waiting around happens. Waiting for AMCAS to open, waiting for verification, waiting for secondaries, waiting for interviews, waiting for decisions, waiting for waitlist movement. Trust me, the more relaxed you are, the better for you. That doesn't mean don't be prepared - it just means that if you begin freaking out over minor things, you're going to have a bad time.

Eh, I wouldn't define trying to get your **** in the first day as not chill, but maybe we have different definitions. Being pissed that someone else might now be able to submit at the same time as you is an entirely different level. As is the pre-MCAT WAMC thread.

Haha... yeah, I kind of figured as much. I have seen a few entertaining threads pop up while lurking there over the past few months though. The girl posing on reddit thread comes to mind. I spent an entire day at work reading and laughing at it.

I remember that one. Gold.

Worst part is she took down all her pics on reddit after she found the thread...but the internet never forgets.

Glad things are working out for you in Memphica. Did undergraduate in a hour or so south of there and spent many a hazily remembered night up there. Good patient population.
Not to be redundant, but mofuggin' QFT right dayur! Word. Also, med students' autonomy verges on PGY-2 out of trauma overload necessity. You'd love some of the chest tube and paracentesis stories, let alone the foreign object stories (e.g., recently had a guy come in after wrecking during a shootout with police with a gun holstered in his pelvis, literally).

I wonder if he had the holster because he was "pissed"

That was an awesome thread.

Make sure you read it in its entirety. The girl in question creates an SDN account and verifies her identity somewhere in the middle of the thread.

Just search for "med student posing" up top...you'll find all you need to know

Edit: sinombre beat me to it but let me just say it's one of the best threads I've ever seen on here.

Looks like I've just found some entertainment. I never opened the thread cuz I thought it'd be shot down pretty quickly by the troll spotters. Looks like I was wrong.
