Genenrally, if you wanna pursue a fellowship, it is helpful to go to a program with a strong, well-known subspeciality division. Rhem is more competitive than Geriatrics. Well, Pitt has very strong in all the subspecialties nationally and internationally (esp, Rhem, Women's health, Geriatrics, heme/onc, and GI than UNC's). Both cities are good place to reside in with your family. Pitt is a much bigger city and warmer than Ann Arbor.
