Does anyone know of a good place to take Calculus online? Preferably somewhere where a) you don't need to have any pre-reqs and b) as inexpensive as possible. For example, I've seen that SFSU has a good online calculus program, but it looks like it would cost ~$1000.

Some of my local community colleges have Calculus online, but they require placement into the class (while places like SFSU do not)

pfft...I don't know that one

me and math don't exactly get along so I wouldn't be very comfy taking calculus online

I took calc I online at my community college, but I had to clep pre-calc first which really wasn't too bad. You can also CLEP calculus, just go to thinkwell.com and use one of their online self-study courses then clep the exam. Thinkwell.com is pretty nerdy, but it works. I'm taking my Calc 3 final and have gone through Calc I, Calc II, differential equations, and Calc 3 in under 14 months. If a mental midget like me can get A's, anyone can.

Are you sure you want to take it online? Most medical schools don't accept online classes for the prerequisites. Calc isn't a prerequisite at most schools, but it is at some, like Virginia Tech. I'd wait to take it at a physical college just to expand your options of schools you could apply to.

University of Alaska-Fairbanks UAF.edu has a catalog of distance learning courses available. There are many math options that include Calc I, II, III. What they do is send you the materials. You would need to find a local school location who would proctor the tests and send them bac to UAF when your test is complete.
